Apex Sports Group was founded on a simple but powerful belief: sports have the ability to transform lives. Whether it's a toddler learning to run and jump for the first time, a child scoring their first goal, or a teenager building confidence through teamwork, the impact of sports goes far beyond the field or court. Founded by Gad Azra and Conner Dekenipp, Apex Sports Group is a full-service organization dedicated to providing top-tier youth and adult programming, enrichment services, and sports consulting to communities across Great Neck, Queens, and the greater New York area.
At Apex, we offer three core branches of service. First, our enrichment programs are designed to support early childhood development through play-based movement, physical education, and social-emotional growth. These programs are offered in schools, daycares, temples, JCCs, and after-school settings, and are built to help children develop motor skills, coordination, confidence, and social awareness in a structured yet fun environment.
Second, we run our own youth sports leagues and clinics throughout the year. Our in-house programs — including soccer, basketball, flag football, and more — are among the most popular and well-regarded in the region. These leagues are known for their professional coaching, high-quality organization, and inclusive spirit. From custom jerseys to playoffs and championship games, we aim to create not only athletic development but unforgettable memories for each participant. Parents trust our programs because they are safe, well-run, and truly put the growth of each child first.
What truly sets Apex Sports Group apart is our third branch: our Sports Management and Consulting Division. We work directly with organizations — including synagogues, schools, community centers, and camps — to create custom sports programs under their own brand. Whether it's a weekly clinic, seasonal league, adult fitness group, or full-service sports department, Apex handles everything: staffing, scheduling, program design, coach training, registration platforms, marketing, parent communication, and on-site operations. We offer both full management services and consulting packages to help communities launch sustainable, impactful programs without needing to build from scratch.
Apex Sports Group was co-founded by Gad Azra and Conner Dekenipp, two professionals with a shared vision and passion for youth development through sports. Gad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). He brings over 10 years of experience running youth and adult sports programs across Great Neck and Queens. His deep knowledge of physical development, coaching, and community needs has allowed him to create programs that are structured, meaningful, and impactful.
Conner Dekenipp holds a Master’s degree in Health Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. With over five years of experience managing programs and working in gym environments, Conner has a proven ability to create inclusive, empowering spaces where kids feel supported and challenged. His understanding of youth psychology and physical education allows him to design programs that help every child grow — not just as an athlete, but as a person.
